QFF™
Developmental milestone interpretation
- QQuality
- FFrequency
- FFunction
What it solves
QFF is the three-lens test for judging whether a milestone is meaningful, not just whether it is present. It moves you past a can or cannot checklist toward how well the movement is done, how often, and whether it matters in daily life.
When to use it
Use QFF whenever you are interpreting gross motor milestones, during screening, evaluation, or progress checks, so that a yes, they can does not hide a movement that is inefficient or unusable.
In practice
When you see a child, do not only ask whether they can perform a milestone. Ask these three questions: Quality, Frequency, Function.
Ask whether the movement is efficient and symmetric (quality), whether the child can repeat it during play (frequency), and whether it supports participation in daily routines (function). Pair it with the milestone interpretation table in Chapter 1.
QFF™ is one of 14 frameworks in the Playbook
